Shirley Jane was born April 11, 1927 in Dexter, MO. She attended William Jewell College in Liberty, MO where she received her degree in teaching. She was home coming queen at Jewell. She met Dub Thompson upon her graduation and was married June 11, 1950. They had their son, Scott on Jan. 12th, 1954. She taught grade school most of her career in Illinois. Shirley had a flair for fashion and could always find wonderful bargains. She was dedicated to her family and LOVED talking about her brothers. She sent birthday cards to everyone in the family and no one has yet filled those shoes. She signed her cards with the sentiment “Straight Ahead” and that is how she lived her life.
Dub Thompson and Scott died before Shirley leaving only her grandson Matthew of Las Vegas, NV. Shirley passed away June, 2014.
