Burnell Landers was born July 5, 1935. He did not have a middle name. After going into the army after high school, Tony as he was called ,attended William Jewell College followed by medical school at Missouri University in Columbia, MO. Tony met Linda Mae Long at William Jewell and they were married August 12, 1961.
Tony graduated from medical school in 1964 and started his internship and residency at the then called General Hospital of Kansas City, MO. He then attended a gastroenterology fellowship at Kansas University Hospital. After 14 years of formal education, at the age of 35, he became one of the first gastroenterologist in the Kansas City area. He had two children, David Bishop and Sara Beth. Tony loved supporting his church and providing scholarships that helped hundreds of young people go to college. One of his biggest loves is talking about his brothers, sisters and all his nephews and nieces. They are his proud and joy!
After a life time resident of Independence, MO, Tony moved to Kearney, MO in 2013.
